We are delighted to welcome our new graduate consultants to the Amberside Advisors’ team. Alasdair, Alex, Ben and Joe started their onboarding last week and soon will be supporting our more experienced team members with delivering mandates across financial modelling and commercial advisory teams.

“I’m really excited to join Amberside Advisors and get involved in Financial Modelling for the two fields I am strongly passionate about - Renewables and Infrastructure. Having an understanding of the physics behind these things, I am keen to discover the financial side of how they are run, and to use my skills to make a difference in the world. I’m really looking forward to meeting new people and to put my problem-solving skills to the test in new areas!”
Alex Deegan

Alex recently completed an MSc in Finance in UCD Micheal Smurfit Graduate Business School in Dublin and has gained experience with EY Parthenon in Dublin, where he worked on government and infrastructure advisory projects, as well as with EY Luxembourg, supporting private equity audits and investment evaluations. Prior to that he achieved Bachelors in Global Commerce (specialising in Finance) from NUIG (Galway), where he also carried out a 6-month internship in EY Luxembourg in their Private Equity Audit department. Outside of work, Alex enjoys staying active through padel, running, and socialising. He has a strong passion for travel, exploring new places both solo and with friends, and capturing diverse cultures through his love of photography.
“I was drawn to Amberside Advisors for its strong reputation in combining financial modelling with impactful advisory work. I’m really looking forward to contributing to projects across infrastructure and low carbon. I’m very keen to further develop skills in project valuation, financial analysis and advisory, while continuing to learn as much as I can from colleagues along the way.”

Ben Nicholls
Ben studied Accounting and Finance at the University of Southampton. He achieved a First Class in his degree and did a 4-year course including a placement year, when he worked at Lloyds Banking Group as a Risk Analyst. At University Ben perfected his poker playing skills and played football, which he still enjoys by regularly joining local training session. He also enjoys running and going to the gym.
"I’m excited to be joining the Amberside Advisors financial modelling team, where I can deepen my understanding of the renewables and energy sectors, and grow my expertise in sustainable finance. I look forward to learning from industry-leading experts, developing robust financial models, and contributing to projects that make a real, positive impact in the world."
