Amberside Advisors supports Deutsche GigaNetz with fibre rollout in Germany
June 2022
Deutsche GigaNetz GmbH is a telecommunications provider focusing on the roll out and operation on fibre-to-the-home broadband in suburban and semi-rural regions of Germany. It aims to reach 2.1 million homes by 2030. During an intense phase of growth, Deutsche GigaNetz appointed Amberside Advisors to provide an operational model to monitor the rollout process, however our role has significantly extended beyond the original scope.

As part of the project, Amberside Advisors was tasked with developing a comprehensive operational model that included advanced payment mechanics for calculating Capex, Operating Costs and Revenue across the general business plan and specific projects.
The model was required to:
Monitor the roll-out process.
Reforecast based on actual performance, incorporating management account information and information on the roll-out plan.
Have functionality to overwrite short term forecasts with operational budgets.
Assess the impact of carrying out specific programmes of roll-out that were being considered.
In addition to building a model to satisfy these requirements, Amberside Advisors were consequently also involved in supporting the client in raising debt and equity to support its roll out plan. As a result, we have worked alongside other appointed advisors to develop a funding model and support the company in achieving its strategic objectives.
