Mark was promoted to Director at Amberside Advisors in 2025, where he now leads the firm’s global strategy for commercial and transaction advisory in the Energy Transition sector. In this role, he is responsible for expanding the practice across new services, sub-sectors, and geographies, helping clients unlock investment opportunities in decentralised and low-carbon energy infrastructure.
Since joining Amberside Advisors in March 2022, Mark has driven significant growth in the firm’s commercial advisory capabilities, building a dynamic, cross-disciplinary team and securing a wide range of clients - from blue-chip strategics and investment funds to major public-sector institutions, with particular success in driving the commercialisation of opportunities in the UK's heat sector. His work has been central to positioning Amberside Advisors as the UK’s leading combined commercial and financial advisor in the decentralised energy space.
Prior to Amberside Advisors, Mark held a senior leadership role at ENGIE Urban Energy, where he oversaw Commercial Management of the UK’s largest district energy portfolio (560MWth). He has led and negotiated some of the UK energy industry’s most high-profile projects, including schemes at the Olympic Park and Stratford City, Embassy Quarter Nine Elms, Newcastle Science Central, Edinburgh St James Quarter, and Battersea Power Station. He also provided commercial and risk leadership across ENGIE’s national portfolio.
Mark began his career at Lendlease Infrastructure before moving into energy services with Cofely GDF-SUEZ, gaining experience in district energy, solar, and gas mobility.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences, a Master's in Economics, and an Executive MBA from Cranfield School of Management. Mark is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
