We are pleased to announce appointment of Lorcan McAlindon as Associate Director within our Commercial Advisory team at Amberside Advisors.
Amberside Advisors has long supported investors and public sector bodies to deliver major heat network and energy transition projects across the UK. Lorcan’s arrival further strengthens the firm’s development capability, enabling even closer collaboration with technical teams and improving its ability to support projects as they move from business case to development stage.
Lorcan joins from 1Energy, where he served as Project Director, where he served as Project Director on the flagship £95m Milton Keynes Energy Network (MKEN) and led the project from origination towards construction readiness. His background also includes senior roles at Equans UK & Ireland, Engie and Cofely UK – GDF Suez Group.
Lorcan brings valuable experience in heat networks and waste heat recovery from data centres. Amberside Advisors already provides operational modelling, refinancing support and model audits to data centre operators and Lorcan’s appointment strengthens the firm’s ability to integrate commercial advisory with emerging energy solutions such as onsite generation, private wire, heat recovery, district cooling, battery co‑location, PPA structuring and addressing grid capacity challenges.
“We are hugely excited to welcome Lorcan. His combination of commercialisation and development experience enhances our ability to support clients through the later stages of the project lifecycle, particularly the practical development and delivery of heat network projects. His appointment further completes our offering at a time when many clients are moving from strategy into implementation.” said Mark Easter, Director for Energy Transition at Amberside Advisors.
Lorcan’s appointment follows the addition of Natasha Schlichtkrull, who joined last year as an Associate in the Commercial Advisory team. Natasha has since supported several local authorities to progress their energy projects and is leading on a growing pipeline of strategic partnering opportunities across Scotland. Together, these appointments reflect Amberside Advisors’ continued growth and its commitment to supporting the next phase of the UK’s heat transition.
